The New York State Police Hate Crimes Task Force will assist in investigating an attack that happened at Syracuse University

The New York State Police Hate Crimes Task Force will be assisting in an investigation of an anti-Semitic attack that happened at Syracuse University.

After 1 a.m. on Saturday, it was reported that someone threw an egg at a group of SU students and shouted anti-Semitic remarks at the group from a car near the corner of Waverly and University avenues.


The egg hit a student but no injuries were reported. The vehicle was described as a silver SUV.

The police department does not know yet if the perpetrator is affiliated with Syracuse University.

Governor Cuomo expressed outrage before enlisting the help of the New York State Police Hate Crimes Task Force.
