As the Finger Lakes and Central New York Regions continue to recover from the issues created by the pandemic, many businesses are finding themselves still struggling.
Some businesses are finding that as people changed their lives and routines, they aren’t coming back to work as quickly, while others are finding employees coming back quicker than expected. The issues run deeper with supply chain issues still occurring, as well as commodity prices still being high, according to Cayuga Strategic Solutions Executive Director Tracy Verrier.
Verrier says they are working with community partners to attempt to find employees for employers.
She admits that the federal unemployment benefits remain an obstacle as people consider getting back into the workforce or changing career paths.
FingerLakes1.com is the region’s leading all-digital news publication. The company was founded in 1998 and has been keeping residents informed for more than two decades. Have a lead? Send it to [email protected].
