Deputies: Five hospitalized after two-car crash in Victor

First responders were called to a crash with multiple injuries on Friday around 7:30 p.m.

Now, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is providing an account of what happened in the moments leading up to the wreck.

Deputies say it occurred at the intersection of Gillis Road and County Road 9.

Tyler McCormick 19, of Batavia was traveling east on Gillis Road when he failed to stop at the intersection. He collided with a vehicle operated by William Elkins, 65, of Victor.

McCormick had one passenger in his vehicle- and Elkins had two in his vehicle.

All five were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

McCormick was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.

The intersection was shut down temporarily while crews worked the scene.
