Police: Bloomfield man charged with attempted criminal sex act

The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of a Bloomfield man following an investigation into online activity.

On July 2, David Kepner, 61, of Bloomfield was charged with second-degree attempted criminal sex act.

He’s accused of using social media to lure a 14-year-old for the purpose of sexual activity.

However, the child wound up being a police officer, whom Kepner met. The officer was posing as a child online, according to police.

Kapner was transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
