Johnson & Johnson has agreed to a $230 million dollar settlement in response to claims that the company helped to fuel the opioid crisis.
Johnson & Johnson will make a series of payments over the next nine years to cover the total amount. The company is also ending their manufacturing and distribution of opioids across the state and country.
Johnson & Johnson said in response that their settlement isn’t an admission of liability or wrongdoing, and that the marketing and promotion of important prescription pain medications were appropriate and responsible.
