Yates County Public Health recently hosted a regional meeting of the Finger Lakes Coalition to Prevent Lead Poisoning. The coalition’s mission is to eliminate lead poisoning through awareness, prevention, and early detection efforts.
Members discussed their ongoing activities and constructed “Little Lead Hazard Houses” to educate families about common sources of lead in homes. The coalition meets every other month, both in-person and virtually, and encourages participation from those working with young children, around lead, or who want to support the cause.
