One hospitalized, driver ticketed after violent two-car crash in Walworth

Deputies report the investigation of a two-car personal injury crash at the intersection South Lincoln Road and Plank Road in the town of Walworth.

As result of the collision, one person was sent to the hospital with injuries.

According to deputies, Deborah Schmitt, 68, of Rochester was traveling north on South Lincoln Road while approaching the intersection with Plank Road. When she reached the intersection- she didn’t stop at the stop sign- and collided with a vehicle traveling west on Plank.

The vehicle Schmitt collided with took out a fire hydrant, and rolled over several times before coming to rest on its side.

She suffered minor injuries and was transported to Rochester General Hospital. The other driver was not injured, according to deputies.

The Lincoln Fire Department and Western Wayne Ambulance assisted the sheriff’s office with the investigation. Schmitt was ticketed for failing to stop at a stop sign.
