Something called a “Free Little Food Pantry” has opened in Walworth at the 2nd Baptist Church on Church Street.
The idea came to be when the Walworth Food Pantry closed and people still needed help according to Donna Klaeysen, Outreach Mission Director.
Local resident Jimmy Johnston built the small box, “house”, for the pantry.
People can take food they need while also leaving food they can spare. The box will be filled and maintained by the community and can be stocked with shelf-stable food. Foods that need to be kept cold and dairy cannot be left.
Those who would like to donate more than just food items can send checks to 2nd Baptist Church, PO Box 68, Walworth NY 14568.
