The Yankees will have Giancarlo Stanton’s powerful bat back in their lineup Friday after activating the slugger from the 10-day injured list prior to their game against the Tigers in Detroit.
Stanton missed 13 games due to a left quad strain. It marked his fourth IL stint since the beginning of 2019.
The 31-year-old was in a 3-for-22 (.136) slump before going on the IL, but that came on the heels of a 12-game hitting streak in which he batted .481 with six homers, 11 RBIs and a 1.413 OPS.
Overall, Stanton is hitting .282 with nine home runs, 24 RBIs and an .882 OPS in 33 games this season.
