The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 49-year-old following a one-car crash on County Rd. 131 in Ovid.
Frederick Mulford, 49, of Lodi was traveling north on County Rd. 131 in a pickup truck near the intersection of West Wycoff Rd. when he suddenly left the roadway, drove into a ditch, and continued striking a culvert and overturning the vehicle.
The pickup sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene. Deputies say Mulford was treated at Cayuga Medical Center and after further investigation arrested for felony DWI.
He was also charged with operating a vehicle while using a mobile phone, crossing pavement markings, and unlicensed operator.
The charges will be answered at a later date. Deputies say they were assisted at the scene by Ovid, Lodi, and Interlaken fire departments.
