Deputies: Butler man was on array of drugs after being found asleep at wheel in Wolcott

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Butler man following the investigation of a vehicle and traffic complaint in the town of Wolcott.

Deputies located Dustin Thomas, 25, who was operating his vehicle on State Rt. 370. However, the vehicle was stopped in the eastbound lane while it appeared to be attempting a left-turn onto Hogback Rd.

Thomas was discovered to be asleep at the wheel with his eyes shut, which prompted a roadside investigation.

Standard field sobriety tests determined that Thomas was impaired. Further evaluation determined that he was under the influence of multiple illegal substances.

He was charged with DWAI drugs, DWAI by a combination of drugs, and aggravated unlicensed operation.

The charges will be answered at a later date in local court.
