Grant program on the way for small business owners in the Finger Lakes thanks to COVID relief bill

A grant program is on the way to help small businesses that were impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Area chambers of commerce are surveying their members, according to Finger Lakes News Radio, who recently spoke with Seneca County Chamber President Jeff Shipley.

“It’s money coming from the federal stimulus package, and it’s being set aside for small businesses being effected by the pandemic,” Shipley told Finger Lakes News Radio.

The outreach effort will include learning how badly select businesses were impacted.

Empire State Development is leading the effort and will oversee the grant process. Due to the fact that the funds are grants, it means repayment to the state or federal government will not be necessary.
