Republicans push to end food requirement with alcohol purchase in New York

Republicans in the state Senate are pushing for the end to a rule that requires the sale of food with alcohol.

It was a rule that was established during the reopening process in New York after the pandemic shutdown.

However, as restaurants and bars are given the green light to expand operation to 75% in coming weeks- some say the food rule is unnecessary.

It’s unclear if Democrats will get on-board with the change in the short-term.
