Deputies: Alcohol believed to be a factor in serious, one-car crash in Arcadia

Deputies say they were called to a one-car personal injury crash that happened around 9:45 a.m. in Arcadia on Thursday.

Scott Herman, 48, of Marion was traveling south on Ryder Rd. in the town of Arcadia when he lost control fo his vehicle and struck a tree head-on.


Herman sustained head injuries and was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Fairville Fire Department, Newark Arcadia Volunteer Ambulance, and Wayne County ALS.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. However, deputies say that alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
