Still no arrests after pickup truck stolen from Auburn, used in high speed chase that ended in Geneva

The owner of the pickup truck that was stolen and used in a high-speed chase between Seneca and Ontario counties says he only left it idling for 30 or 40 seconds.

Erik Winks, who spoke with the Auburn Citizen about his pickup truck, talked about his pickup truck being stolen from his driveway.

It was about 6:20 a.m. He ran inside to grab his lunch after his truck was running- and when he came out- the vehicle was gone.

There was approximately $600 in damage to the truck, and approximately $4,000 in personal items were never recovered from it.

The Geneva Police Department last provided an update the day after the pursuit, which happened on February 23. A photo of a possible suspect was posted to social media by police, but no arrests have been made to date.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to call the Geneva Police Department at (315) 828-6771 or 911. Tips can be emailed at [email protected].
