Sabres fall to Devils in overtime, 4-3

The Buffalo Sabres battled back late to earn a point Thursday night, but fell in overtime to the New Jersey Devils 4-3 at KeyBank Center.

Pavel Zacha scored the game winner with 3:43 remaining in overtime.

Riley Sheahan, Casey Mittelstadt and Sam Reinhart scored for Buffalo.

With a goal to tie things up 3-3 late in the third, Reinhart extended his point streak to five games. He has seven points (4+3) in that stretch.

Linus Ullmark stopped all 15 shots he saw in the first period, but left due to injury. Carter Hutton stepped in between the pipes to start the second period and made 21 saves on 25 shots.

Jesper Bratt, Miles Wood and Nico Hischier scored for New Jersey. Mackenzie Blackwood made 29 saves in the victory.
