Senator John Manion, who represents the 53rd District has joined the growing list of lawmakers who want to see high school sports resume.
The newly-elected representative of a district in Central New York says that he wants to see high school sports – of all risk levels – up-and-running.
“Let’s get the right people around the virtual table to develop clear protocols and procedures based on the latest science and technology,” he said. “Let’s make sure school districts have ever resource they need – including access to rapid testing and streaming technology so families and fans can watch from home.”
He said among other things, scholarships are at stake for athletes, as well as the loss of the traditional high school experience.
I believe with the correct plan and resources we can safely resume high school athletics. My full statement: pic.twitter.com/bvEr2ffOmj
