On Friday around 3 p.m. deputies were called to a personal injury crash on County Road 1 near the intersection of Middle Road in Gorham.
The vehicle, operated by Samantha Bergman, 45, of Rushville was traveling south at a high rate of speed when it struck a utility pole – causing it to overturn several times.
Deputies say Bergman was trapped inside the vehicle and the Rushville Fire Department arrived on-scene and assisted with extrication. Middlesex Ambulance also responded and transported the 44-year-old to Thompson Hospital.
Deputies say she was only treated for minor injuries at the hospital. However, she was found to be intoxicated following an investigation, which resulted in a DWI charge.
Bergman was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge at a later date.
