Authorities say a man who went missing from the Rochester-area on Wednesday was involved in a serious crash in Ontario County during the afternoon hours on Thursday.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 1:20 p.m. first responders were called to Allens Hill Road at County Road 15 in the town of Richmond for a two-car crash.
Jesse Wilson was traveling east on County Road 15 when he failed to yield the right of way at the intersection with Allens Hill Road. Wilson’s car collided with a pickup truck operated by Bryan Duerr, who was traveling north on Allen Hill Road.
After the two vehicles collided – Wilson’s went off the road and struck a telephone pole. He was unconscious at the scene and extricated by firefighters from the Richmond and Bristol fire departments.
He was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital and remains in critical condition, according to deputies.
Duerr suffered neck and shoulder injuries and was transported by Livonia Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Deputies learned that Wilson was a missing person from the Rochester-area. The road was closed for about two hours as they reconstructed the scene. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the wreck.
