Seneca County reports first reinfection of pandemic, adds 31 new cases on Monday

Seneca County has reported its first re-infection. Although rare, a few examples have been highlighted by health officials around the U.S. as a warning for those who have experienced the virus once.

Seneca reported 31 new cases on Monday bringing the total number of active cases to 92. Officials said there were 425 in quarantine, 7 people hospitalized, and a total of 6 deaths.

“New cases and spread more often than not- are being linked to non essential gatherings so it is extremely important to refrain from these at this time,” officials added.

They said contact tracing is underway for all new positives.
