The Genoa Fire Department says they were dispatched to a fire following a collision involving a sedan and farm tractor.
The crash happened on Route 34 north of Sills Road.
Upon arrival firefighters found one car partially under a piece of farm equipment blocking the north bound lane. Occupants of the vehicles had already pulled themselves from the wreckage.
Once the fire was confirmed to be knocked out, firefighters worked to secure the vehicle and stabilize the tractor. Southern Cayuga Ambulance was requested to the scene for an evaluation due to air bag deployment.
The Genoa Fire Department was assisted by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.
“This could have been a much more serious situation,” the Department said in a post to Facebook. “Luckily the driver signed off.”
