Geneva says enforcement of winter parking will begin December 1st

The City of Geneva is returning to enforcing winter parking regulations as per the City Code effective from December 1st to April 1st.

For the past several years, City Council authorized City staff to administer a pilot program to test out a different approach to administering winter parking regulations. For this winter season, winter parking rules will return to the regulations detailed in the City Code, which restrict parking from 2-6 a.m. on city streets from December 1st to April 1st.

These regulations apply to all city streets, except those with alternative winter regulations as detailed in the City Code, or explained specifically on posted signs. Parking lots throughout the city also have sign specific winter parking regulations for residents and visitors to follow to allow for winter snow removal.

Vehicles in violation of the winter parking regulations will be ticketed. Anyone with questions regarding the winter parking regulations can reach out to Adam Blowers ([email protected]). The city thanks residents and visitors for their cooperation in helping to ensure streets are able to stay well plowed and accessible during the winter season.
