Jury trials paused in New York as COVID-19 cases rise

Officials announced this week that new jury trials would be temporarily suspended as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in New York.

No new cases will be scheduled for jury trial for the time being.

Those that are already in progress will be allowed to proceed, but acquisition of future juries will also be put on hold with the legal proceedings themselves.

It’s unclear how long the pause may last.
