New York has a statewide positive rate of less than 1% again.
It happened over the weekend, despite significant increases in virus transmission in select locations. Governor Andrew Cuomo has deemed them ‘hot spots’, but noted that the state is well-prepared to deal with it.
Of about 118,000 tests reported to the state on Saturday, 1,143 were positive. Approximately 820 people were hospitalized with the virus on Saturday.
Cuomo had instituted restrictions on hot spots, but none of those locations were seen locally.
