Deputies say only minor injuries were reported after a multi-vehicle crash involving a car and horse-and-buggy.
It happened around 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday on County Road 6 in Geneva.
Deputies say Christopher Verdehem, 32, of Bellona was traveling south on County Road 6 in a Kia Sol when he struck a two-person horse drawn carriage.
Matthew Shirk, 18, of Geneva and a 15-year-old were inside the buggy. While the carriage suffered serious damage, neither of the passengers were hurt badly.
Deputies say both the 15- and 18-year-old only suffered scratches. They were treated and released at the scene.
The horse was also not injured in the incident.
Deputies say the crash was caused by distracted driving. Verdehem was cited for unsafe passing and will answer the charge at a later date.
West Lake Fire, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and Geneva Foreign Auto responded to the scene.
