New York State Police say they are investigating a fatal crash that happened in Wayland on State Route 36.
It claimed the life of a 6-year-old girl.
The crash happened around 6:25 p.m. Police say Derek Clark, 30, was driving east when he drove off the roadway, striking a telephone pole and guide rail.
The car flipped over, and his daughter – who was riding ina booster seat in the vehicle – died at the scene.
Clark was charged with DWAI and second-degree vehicular manslaughter. He was held at the Steuben County Jail on $50,000 bail.
