Officials in Cayuga County say a member of the Owasco Elementary School staff has tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19.
The person did not have any contact with students, according to public health officials.
They said in an update that contact tracing was taking place.
The person infected is in mandatory isolation since testing positive. The staffer worked in the school on Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. It’s unclear at this point what other staff members may have come into contact with the worker, but contact tracing has started.
