Buzz Shirley (Ithaca College) struck out eight batters in five innings of one-run ball to push the Snow Cats to their 10th consecutive victory. The 5-foot-10 left-hander lowered his earned run average to 2.10. Rojo Prarie (College of William and Mary) secured his fourth save with two innings of one-hit ball.
Mark Trotta (College of William and Mary) paced the offense with an RBI single and a run scored. Patrick Blackall (Rochester Institute of Technology) had an RBI double, driving in James Cronin (St. Lawrence University) in the fifth. Branden Myers (St. Bonaventure University) went 2-of-3 with a run scored. Cronin reached base in all four of his at-bats with a hit and three walks. Matt Smith (Ithaca College) knocked in a run and Lachlan Charles (Cornell University) went 1-of-2 with a run scored.
For the Cardinals, Will Porter (Rochester Institute of Technology) scored on a passed ball in the first and drove in Frank McCabe (Hilbert College) on a fielder’s choice in the sixth. Jackson DeJohn (St. Bonaventure University), Joshua Ferris (Finger Lakes Community College), Matt Kerchemski (Erie Community College), Stephen Kemp (Medaille College) and Daniel Tirabassi (University of Rochester) all had a base-knock.
