Waterloo woman airlifted after crash while delivering mail in Seneca County

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday around 2:03 p.m. deputies responded to the area of State Route 336 and Secor Road for a one-car crash.

Deputies say Peggy Cole, 52, of Waterloo was traveling east on Route 336 delivering mail, while driving along the shoulder of the road, when the vehicle’s tires caught the edge of the pavement and went off the south side of the roadway – spinning 180 degrees.

The vehicle came to rest in the south side of the ditch. She suffered injuries to her leg, back, and neck. She was airlifted from the Seneca Falls Airport by Lifenet and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Deputies say she was listed in stable condition.

New York State Police, and Fayette and Varick fire departments assisted at the scene.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
