Sheriff: Felony assault, robbery charges filed after stabbing in Steuben County

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard says two people are in custody after an assault and stabbing investigation, which began on June 3rd around 5:20 a.m.

That’s when the victim, identified as Mark Norton, arrived at the public safety building requesting help. He had been beaten, stabbed, and robbed by two males on Fish Hatchery Road in Bath.

Allard says Norton was airlifted to a medical facility for treatment and late released.

Deputies and investigators began a systematic and thorough investigation, which led to the recovery of video, the vehicle used in the assault, and the persons who were allegedly involved.

The following individuals have been charged:

Michelle Gause, 37, of Dundee was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, criminal facilitation, and conspiracy. She was arraigned and remanded to jail on $15,000 cash bail.

Dylon Little, 28, of Bath was charged with conspiracy. He was arraigned and released, according to deputies.

Corey Sloan, 34, of Addison was already in custody in Dansville, Virginia. However, a parole violation warrant was filed for his extradition. Allard says Sloan will be charged with first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are expected, according to Sheriff Allard.
