Deputies: Walworth man charged with DWI after crash in Wayne County

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Walworth man following the investigation of a property damage crash on Maple Avenue in the town of Palmyra.

Colin Rivers, 31, was reportedly traveling east on Haak Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the guard rail at the intersection of Maple Avenue.

During investigation, deputies found that Rivers was driving under the influence at the time of the wreck. He failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.

Deputies say Rivers was found to have a BAC of .10 and was charged with DWI, failure to stop at a sign, and failure to turn when required.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
