Public health officials urge people to get to the doctor for routine care

Public health officials are urging residents to not let general health ailments go amid the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Throughout the initial weeks of the outbreak, residents stayed away from hospitals as a precaution. Now, months later, doctors and public health officials alike are asking people to go to the doctor’s office or hospital if needed.

Cayuga County Public Health Director Kathleen Cuddy says fear of the virus could be a detriment to overall health.

“People do need to come back and get their routine care,” she explained to Finger Lakes News Radio. Whether it’s chronic issues, or simple maintenance items – it’s important to put personal health first.
