The New York State Builders Association says the time is now to allow home builders to get back to construction work.
Lewis Dubuque, Executive Vice President of the New York State Builders Association says ‘winter states’ like New York provide a limited amount of time to complete construction projects.
New York is the only state right now not allowing for market-rate residential construction to continue.
“Housing is the linchpin of the economy,” Dubuque said to Spectrum News. “If the governor wants to get things going, you couldn’t pick a better industry to get started. Our members work on job sites that are remote, safe to contain, you can constantly know who is going in and out of a job site. It can be closed off.”
