Seneca Falls twins sweep 2020 Mynderse Academy Valedictorian & Salutatorian awards

Mynderse Academy is proud to announce that Margaux LeBrun Eller, daughter of Elbert Eller and Michelle LeBrun, has been named the Valedictorian for the Mynderse Academy Class of 2020. Mynderse Academy also announced that Michael LeBrun Eller, brother of Margaux, has been named the Mynderse Academy Class of 2020 Salutatorian. Both twins plan on attending the same college as well in the fall. Learn more about these amazing Blue Devil siblings below.

About Margaux

During her time at Mynderse Academy, Margaux has been very active in her school community both as a three-sport athlete and through her involvement in several clubs and activities. Margaux played soccer and served as a Captain this year, ran indoor track and was looking forward to playing lacrosse this spring. She also currently serves as the President for Student Council, a Co-Captain for Masterminds, is a member of the Yearbook Club, Seneca Green Club and played with the Finger Lakes Flamingos Club Lacrosse team. Margaux serves our community with The Joy Project, has actively been an Altar Server at St. Mary’s for the last nine years and has received the Hands of Christ Award, is an Interact mentor/coach for youth soccer and lacrosse, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, served in Vacation Bible School, is a Junior Rotarian, and also volunteered for the It’s a Wonderful Run 5K and the AIDS Ride for Life. She was a Girls State Delegate and voted County Party Leader and Chief of Information and Technology.

Margaux is a member of the National Honor Society, Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society and the Foreign Language Honor Society. She has completed coursework in many advanced classes including AP Calculus, Honors English, FLCC Gemini Physics, US History, Biology and Health, and Project Lead the Way – RIT’s accredited program: Introduction to Engineering and Principles of Engineering. Margaux is also studying with the New Visions Medical Careers Program through BOCES at Geneva General Hospital.

Margaux has been named a Finger Lakes Scholar, a Student Sage Scholar, a Finger Lakes Scholar Athlete, and was on the high honor roll for all of high school and earned a 100% on both the Biology and Chemistry Regents exams. Also, she earned 1st place in the Rotary Oratorical Contest.

About Michael

During his time at Mynderse, Michael has been very active within the school community, currently serving as the President of the Class of 2020, the Vice-President of the Student Council, serves as Student Representative to the SFCSD Steering Committee, was appointed a Boy’s State delegate where he served as the Commissioner of Economics and Sustainability, Co-Captain of the Masterminds Club, and a Drum Major for the Mynderse Academy Marching Band. He is also a member of the Myndersian Yearbook Business Staff and participated in Model UN – specializing in the Economic and Social Council. Michael enjoys music and art and plays the tenor saxophone in Varsity Concert Band, sings Bass in the Varsity Chorus and likes to paint with acrylics in his free time.

Michael serves his community with The Joy Project. The Joy Project raises awareness, money and goods for The Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes. Michael has also actively been an Altar Server at St. Mary’s in Waterloo for the last nine years and received the Hands of Christ Award, and he volunteers as a team leader at Vacation Bible School. He also volunteers as a tutor for Global History, and volunteers for the AIDS Ride for Life, the United Way Fill the Bus Campaign and the It’s a Wonderful Run 5K. Michael is also a three sport athlete, playing varsity soccer, indoor track and outdoor track, earning a spot at the New Balance Nationals Indoor Track Championship to compete in the Race Walk last year and earned a Section V Scholarship for Indoor Track.

Michael is a member of the National Honor Society, Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society and the Foreign Language National Honor Society. He has completed coursework in many advanced classes including AP Calculus, Honors English, FLCC Gemini Health, US History, Spanish, Biology, English and Physics. Michael also has also taken Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship through Accelerate U, and is currently studying with the New Visions Medical Career program at Geneva General Hospital through BOCES.

Michael has also earned many honors, including the Wayne-Finger Lakes Superintendent’s Award for leadership and character, the Joseph Campese Award for service, and was the runner-up in the Rotary District 7120 Ethical Oratorical Contest.

Taking The Next Step Together

Both siblings plan to attend Middlebury College in Vermont. Margaux will embark on a Pre-Med track, majoring in Biology with a Global Health minor while Michael will also begin a Pre-Med track with an intended major of Economics and a Global Health minor.
