Police: Seneca Falls man stopped going 97 mph on Black Brook Road

Police say they arrested a 23-year-old Seneca Falls man following a traffic stop on Black Brook Road.

The Seneca Falls Police Department says Wayne Purnell, 23, was observed traveling 97 mph on Black Brook Road in a 55 mph zone around 4:04 p.m. on Friday.

Following the traffic stop and roadside investigation, police charged him with two counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving, unlawful possession of marijuana, and a variety of other vehicle and traffic violations.

Police say he threw garbage out of his window during the traffic stop and was possessing marijuana. There were also two passengers in the vehicle with Purnell.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
