Cayuga Medical Center is sending personnel to New York City.
The hospital located in Tompkins County announced that on Wednesday it would send two bus loads of medical personnel to the city, which has become the global epicenter of the pandemic.
I don’t know any way to say it except heroes,” Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick said. “Really heroic, brave and very generous people, doctors, nurses, medical professionals, who said ‘yes, I’ll leave my home at this time and go where the pain is the most.’”
He’s asking people to cheer on the healthcare workers along their route to the city.
