In just a few days some major changes will be coming to Regional Transit Service.
Instead of running normal routes through Seneca, Wayne, and Ontario counties – it will move to dial-a-ride.
In Ontario County customers can schedule a ride 24 hours in advance by calling 585-394-2250. Services will be available between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. during the week; and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.
In Seneca County the number to call is 315-539-1844. Service will be provided from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week. There will be no weekend schedule.
In Wayne County customers can call 315-946-5617. The county will be split into quadrants running as follows:
Ontario/Sodus area, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wolcott area, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clyde/Savannah area, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Newark/Lyons area, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
RTS said that the public should avoid using transportation as much as possible.
