Plastic bags are making a temporary comeback.
Tops Friendly Markets confirmed its allowing customers to use single-use plastic bags amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company said it won’t enforce the ban until May 15th. The main concern is sanitation connected to reusable bags.
The state had planned on not enforcing the new plastic bag ban until April.
As for Wegmans, a company spokesperson tells 13WHAM-TV that they’re watching the situation closely, but haven’t issued any plans to rollback the plastic bag ban.
Plastic bags will be free at Tops.
