Steuben man who threatened Congresswoman heading to prison

A Steuben County man is going to prison after threatening a member of Congress.

Patrick Carlineo, 56, also pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Last year he called the office of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and threatened to kill her.

Prosecutors say, during a conversation with one of Omar’s staff members, Carlineo said, “Do you work for the Muslim Brotherhood? Why are you working for her? She’s a (expletive) terrorist. Somebody ought to put a bullet in her skull. Back in the day, our forefathers would have put a bullet in her (expletive).”

Investigators found a loaded handgun, two shotguns, and three rifles in his home. He was barred from owning guns because he had been convicted of a felony before.
