There’s confusion in Cayuga County over a local law, which was passed last week to increase the income limits for tax exemptions for seniors and disabled homeowners.
Real Property Tax Services Director Kelly Anderson spoke with Finger Lakes News Radio on Monday, and said residents were under the impression that the new law limited income.
Anderson told FLNR that increasing the income limits will make more elderly and disabled homeowners eligible for discounts.
However, not everyone understood that, and some felt that the local law ‘came out of nowhere’.
