A total of 12 people were arrested after protests on Thursday at a business in Ithaca.
Eight of the protesters were adults and charged with third-degree criminal trespass while four others were juveniles and released to parents or guardians, police said in a press release.
On Wednesday, protesters blocked traffic at the intersection of South Cayuga and East Green streets. They then protested at the Chase Bank nearby in Ithaca.
The Ithaca Voice reports that the protest was over the Coastal GasLink pipeline in British Columbia, Canada.
While protesters talked to bank officials and local law enforcement – they were taken into custody after refusing to move.
