Yates murder trial won’t begin until July now, delayed from May start

The trial of a Branchport man accused of killing his mother has been delayed, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

Yates County DA Todd Casella said the trial of Paul Khouzam, which had been scheduled for May 8th, won’t start until July 16th.

That’s when jury selection will occur.

The 38-year-old Branchport resident is facing a number of charges including murder, burglary, criminal possession of a weapon and cruelty to animals.

He’s accused of brutally killing his mother in August 2018.
