How about a new timezone for New York residents?
Senator James Skoufis (D) of the 39th Senate District recently introduced a bill that would move the state to Atlantic Standard Time. This move would mean that residents wouldn’t have to turns clocks forward or backward.
They would stay at a set time year-round.
The change would mean that winter days would include more sunlight later into the day. The downside is that it would still be dark when children wait for their school bus.
The bill states that the law would only go into effect if Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania pass similar laws.
