Employee accused of stealing 240 packs of cigarettes over a year

Deputies say a woman from Warsaw was late last week after she stole thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes from her employer.

Investigators say Debra Gelser, 48, was charged with grand larceny.

She’s accused of stealing 240 packs of Newport cigarettes from a convenience store in Livingston County throughout 2019.

The cigarettes were worth nearly $3,000.

She was given an appearance ticket to answer the charge at a later date.
