The village of Waterloo has a new economic development committee.
Earlier this week the village board voted to establish the committee, which will be led by retired Waterloo High School Teacher and former Athletic Director Joe Sposato. He was selected to serve as the committee’s first chairman.
It’s unclear how many members will serve on the committee, but the goal is to provide the needed community interactions and communications for the continued development of economic resources support requests, which are both strategically determined and community driven, that are awarded through an application process determined by the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council and the state.”
The village has been an active participant in trying to lure state investment, including the $10 million Downtown Revitalization prize.
