Deputies: Wolcott man abused girlfriend, who had protective order in place

Deputies say that a 32-year-old Wolcott man was arrested after investigation into a domestic incident in the village of Wolcott.

Joseph Scott, 32, of Wolcott was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment following the incident.

Deputies say Scott was found outside the residence of where the incident occurred, and had been physically abusive toward the female victim.

Deputies add that the victim, who was said to be his girlfriend at the time, was pushed to the floor and pinned down inside the residence.

She had an active refrain from order of protection against him, which meant Scott was in violation.

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail. The charges will be answered at a later date.
