Waters Edge project faces uncertainty after key partner exits

Ithaca’s Planning Board reviewed several development proposals this month, with the Waters Edge project drawing major attention after the Vecino Group pulled out, according to The Ithaca Voice. The revised plan now includes 200 units, down from 450, split between market-rate and affordable housing. Design reviews were generally positive, but questions remain about financing and future ownership.

Other proposals included new apartment buildings at 201 Oak Ave. and 215 College Ave., with updated designs and positive board feedback. INHS presented plans for 56 senior apartments and a daycare on West State Street, while Cornell’s Grinspoon Hillel Center is progressing through environmental review.

The Moose Lodge and Cayuga Park won sign approvals, and two special permits—one for a yoga studio, another for a bed and breakfast—were unanimously approved.
