The Village of Penn Yan will bustle with activity on Saturday, Dec. 7 as the community gathers to celebrate “StarShine, Christmas in the Village.”
This popular event, started over 30 years ago, has grown to become a favorite community Christmas celebration in the Finger Lakes. This year the event will occur on the first Saturday in December rather than the first Friday as in past years.
Main Street will be closed to traffic beginning at 3 p.m. in preparation for the many street vendors that will be attending the event. The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. The evening will feature a variety of music, entertainment, colorful lights, treats, historic displays, an elf school, special sales, the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, and the crowning of Miss Penn Yan.
The Yates County Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Penn Yan, Keuka College, and multiple organizations around the county are uniting to bring a memorable Christmas event.
