Police have provided an update on the crash’s which resulted in the closure of Route 5 in the Town of Seneca Falls around 5:15 p.m.
The road was closed for over an hour, according to police. They say 19-year-old Kadin Coleman was operating an SUV on Route 5 when his vehicle left the roadway due to distracting driving.
Police say the vehicle went over the sidewalk and struck a heritage sign and utility pole, sheering it in half, causing live wires to hang low across the roadway.
Police say Coleman was ticketed and declined medical services.
In addition to first responders, NYSEG and NYS DOT both were on-scene.
