Cayuga County man arraigned on dozens of child pornography charges

A 54-year-old Cayuga County resident pleaded not guilty to all counts in a 49-count indictment accusing him of possessing and promoting child sexual performances.

According to The Citizen, Richard Potter, of 741 Conners Road in Springport, pleaded not guilty to all counts. He was charged with 26 counts of promoting a sexual performance of a child, 22 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

All – except for the weapon charge – are felonies, according to officials.

Potter is accused of promoting a child sexual performance in July 2018. All of the counts stem from alleged crimes in Cayuga County.

Judge Thomas Leone kept bail at $5,000 cash, or $10,000 bond.
